My first thought was to just sit outside of my house and read, but there have been construction going on at the end of my street for quite some time. Something about a swear main...(insert poop joke here).
So I decided to drive to Lake Harriet. I got dressed and grab my copy of Tina Fey's Bossy Pants and was out the door. As I was driving, I noticed how much hotter it was than my shaded porch. Those who know me, knows how I treat sunlight like I'm a vampire.
After I lathered up the SPF 100 in the car and I found a bench at the Rose garden area instead of the lake. I sat in the park and read a few chapters of Tina's book. Doesn't' that sound droll? I intentionally drove out 15min away to read a book! But I put it back in perspective, reading a book out in a park where there were mostly senior citizens and babies in strollers vs wearing a shirt and tie while stuck in a conference room with florescent lighting. I rather have a new posse of grandparents than rushing back to the office.
I took all non flower photos in the Rose Garden |

Cactus in Minnesota?! |
No camera could have captured how awesome this looked in real life |
Side note: I just saw the word "Cheeze Burger" and I have the insatiable urge to demolish a thick medium rare burger where the American cheese is goopy and melty...
